2010 Annual Awards Luncheon:

Celebrating Another Successful Year!

Over 500 business men and women, teachers, principals, superintendents, and community leaders attended the Center's third Annual Awards Luncheon on Thursday, March 25, 2010. John Pepper received the Founder's Award. Mr. Pepper's keynote address on the importance of investing in school leaders, focusing on early childhood education and connecting community to local schools emphasized the work the Economics Center is doing in local schools daily.

Center Director, George Vredeveld receives an Honorary Doctorate at Varna Free University of Bulgaria on October 4, 2011.

Congratulations to our Board Member Mr. Timothy E. Stautberg for being named the Senior Vice President The E.W. Scripps Company Newspaper Division

Mr. Stautberg currently serves on the Economics Center's Executive Committee and has been a board member and supporter of the Center for over 10 years. We value his commitment to our mission.

Celebrating Another Successful Year!

Over 500 business men and women, teachers, principals, superintendents, and community leaders attended the Center's third Annual Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 13, 2011.

Pete Alpaugh, Hero and Captain of Industry

George Vredeveld, Director of the Center, said Mr. Alpaugh "had an extraordinary and positive influence on our center. He had a good understanding of the educational process and consistently promoted working with schools and teachers to deliver an objective, non-partisan message."

Pete Alpaugh was one of the founders of the Economics Center. His support of the Center was valued and he will be missed.
