Market Potential for Retail Development in Mount Auburn, Cincinnati

The Institute for Community Partnerships, UC The market data from the Mt. Auburn analysis has identified substantial potential for new retail businesses in the Mt. Auburn neighborhood, the hilltop gateway between downtown and uptown Cincinnati which is often referred to as Cincinnati's first suburb. This neighborhood offers some of the most unique sweeping views of the city and northern Kentucky.
The report found that retailers with the greatest potential for development in a this business district include:
- Restaurants and food services: with a retail sales potential exceeding $17 million annually by the addition of roughly 26 full and limited service restaurants.
- Clothing and related merchandise stores: with retail a projected sales potential in excess of $3.6 million annually with the addition of up to seven new stores.
- Office supply: book stores and other miscellaneous retailers, with an annual sales potential of more than $2 million with the addition of up to four stores.
