Business Inventory and Industry Intelligence

At the request of Cincinnati Works, the Economics Center has prepared a business inventory and an industry intelligence analysis to assist Cincinnati Works in identifying employment opportunities for its clients and developing new employer partnerships.

At the request of Cincinnati Works, the Economics Center has prepared a business inventory and an industry intelligence analysis to assist Cincinnati Works in identifying employment opportunities for its clients and developing new employer partnerships.

  • Recently opened low-skilled, entry level positions (with earnings less than $13 per hour),
  • Can be accessed by bus,
  • Has more than 50 employees in Cincinnati,
  • Is not currently partnering with Cincinnati Works.

In Task 2, the Economics Center prepared an industry intelligence analysis, which produced a business inventory of potential partners using industry knowledge. The businesses in this secondary list belong to industries that:

  • Employ a considerable share of low skilled workers in our region,
  • Are expected to grow in identified low skilled occupations based on the projections published by individual state agencies, and (in part) growth rates in national projections from the Bureau of Labor Statistics1.

Finally, this report contains an Appendix that lists those occupations of greatest potential for Cincinnati Works’ clients (with earnings less than $13 per hour) in Cincinnati metropolitan area, and identified their skill requirements.
