
Economics Center's StEP Director, Dr. Val Krugh is Nominated for Strive's LEARN Award
The Economics Center's Student Enterprise (StEP) Program Director, Dr. Val Krugh, has been nominated to receive Strive's The LEARN Award. The LEARN (Leading Education Advocacy Reform Now) Award acknowledges, celebrates and supports the exceptional individuals, organizations and communities that are taking a leading role in the movement to make sure our children experience a world class education. Award recipients will receive an educational support package which includes access to free workshops, training, and individualized coaching sessions. Recipients will also receive a $1,000 ‘Each One Teach One’ mini-grant to support their work and the work of another great educational model in the Greater Cincinnati Area. Recipients will be announced on Friday, May 14th at the Carnegie Center in NKY.
Dr. Val Krugh has a strong passion for education and goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the educational achievement or career advancement of youth or adults in our region.
Since November of 2005, the StEP program has been incorporated into thirty-five local schools and serves over 7,500 students. Volunteer and community support has increased as more have become aware of the strong financial literacy message embedded in the power of choice and hope brought to students involved in StEP.
