Report on Business Conditions for Greater Cincinnati October 2011

This report covers the level of business activity in the Greater Cincinnati Area only - Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. National report available from the Institute for Supply Management.

Highlights

• October saw a definite slowing in the pace of expansion of the Cincinnati economy.
• The Purchasing Managers Index – Cincinnati measured 56.9 in October, indicating vigorous economic expansion for the Greater Cincinnati Area Manufacturing sector.
• The Production and New Orders Indices reported dramatic downward movements falling to 9 (New Orders) & 17 (Production). This has not been lower since December 2009.
• The Composite Price Index declined another consecutive month, falling to 32. This is much lower than the peak of 62 reached in spring of this year.
