Last year, Diane Breiner joined the Economics Center as the Program Development Coordinator, responsible for identifying and developing engaging math resources that utilize and apply economics and personal finance themes. Diane’s work includes working with middle school math teachers and developing the Economics Center’s new supplemental math program called EnterpriseMath.

Diane BreinerDiane’s focus is to have an impact on math test scores in local schools, teach economics, entrepreneurship and personal finance and help teachers utilize activities that are hands-on, interactive and relevant to students’ lives.

Prior to joining the Economics Center, Diane taught middle school math, language arts, and science for 10 years in the Lebanon City and Kings Local School Districts. Of her work at the Economics Center, Diane remarks“It’s been an exciting year, piloting math lessons in the context of economics and financial education, and running entrepreneurial simulations in classrooms using our mobile technology lab. I have been able to work with students from grade 4 through 12, which has added variety to my teaching experience.”

Diane obtained her undergraduate degree from Miami University. She is a National Board Certified Mathematics Teacher earning this distinction in 2003 in the area of Early Adolescence Mathematics. She and her husband Bruce live in Mason.
