Community Support Makes an Impact on K-12 Education
The Center’s Development Office has worked hard to get local and national organizations on board to help the Center carry out its mission to build a vibrant community by inspiring students through economic and financial education. Recently, there have been three major contributions from the Charles H. Dater Foundation, Citigroup Credit Services and US Bank.
The Charles H. Dater Foundation made a $15,000 contribution supporting the Center’s Student Enterprise Program (StEP). This support will allow second year implementation of StEP in an elementary Catholic Inner City School (CISE) and third year implementation of StEP in a Cincinnati public elementary school. The Charles H. Dater Foundation has been a major contributor to the Center since 2003.
Citigroup Credit Services recently donated $10,000 in support of the Stock Market Game. This contribution will support the Stock Market Game in urban high schools in both Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Citi has been a supporter of the Center and advocate of our mission since 2004.
Our most recent major contribution was from US Bank which donated $25,000, supporting our Center’s Financial Education Initiative (FEI). The funds will be used to expand the impact of the FEI in two Cincinnati Public high schools including teacher professional development and programs such as the Stock Market Game and Why Money Matters. Our local US Bank has been a major contributor for 10 years.
The Economics Center would like to thank advocates of our Center who helped us reach out to these organizations in an effort to support our programs which allow us to carry out our mission. To support the Center, visit www.economicscenter.org/give.
