Jennifer Pitzer, PhD - Research Associate

Jennifer Pitzer is a Research Associate at the Economics Center, receiving her appointment in 2008.

Dr. Pitzer’s work at the Economics Center concentrates on analyzing the economic implications of pricing and tax policies, as well as economic and fiscal impacts in the transportation, health care, education, and tourism/recreation industries. She has also examined the economic development potential of statewide initiatives.

Dr. Pitzer has also conducted extensive research on various relationships between economics and education. She has examined aspects of urban public primary education as well as post-secondary education. She has written about household behaviors, specifically on the impacts of debt accrued early in life on the decisions of young people later in life, particularly on behaviors such as purchasing a home, getting married and having children

Dr. Pitzer earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the Ohio State University. She also received a Masters in Economics from Miami University, Oxford OH, and her Baccalaureate in Economics and International Affairs at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
