Irem Yelkenci, MCP- Research Associate

Irem Yelkenci is a Research Associate at the Economics Center for Education & Research. She began her career with the Economics Center as a Research Assistant while pursuing her graduate studies.

Ms. Yelkenci’s research focuses include regional economics, creative industries, knowledge economy, workforce and community development through public-private partnerships. Her work at the Center involves research and analysis on urban economic development, public transportation, and strategic planning. During graduate school, she conducted research on the knowledge economy in European cities.

Ms. Yelkenci received a scholarship to study at the renowned College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati, where she completed her MA in Community Planning with a specialization in economic development. She also received her Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design and Regional Planning at the Istanbul Technical University, Turkey.
