
Benjamin Passty, PhD - Research Assistant Professor
Benjamin Passty, Ph.D., is a Research Assistant Professor for the Economics Center, and Economics Department faculty member since 2008.
In this role, he is a principle researcher in many Center projects. His personal research agenda focuses on the impacts of policy on economic and household decision making, including marriage and divorce.
Before his time at the Economics Center, Dr. Passty served as Director of the Applied Economics Research Institute, supervising efforts to use Area Research Opportunities to train students in the Master of Arts in Applied Economics Program and advance the Research Programme of the Economics Department Faculty. The Extensive Client list of AERI included the Mill Creek Restoration Project, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce--Cincinnati, the Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization, and the City of Cincinnati.
Dr. Passty earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University; during his time there, he also earned a Certificate in Economics of Education from the Multi-Disciplinary Program in Education Sciences. In addition, he earned Bachelors Degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX
